A lesson on speaking clearly?

A South African rugby player went on a 300-mile round trip after a Scottish taxi driver misheard ‘Port William’ for ‘Fort William’. Scottish newspaper the Herald reports that 27-year-old Gary Rosewarne spent eight hours in the cab before realising the mistake. The rugby player was separated from the rest of the team in London, when he realised he had forgotten his passport and had to take a separate flight. The taxi fare for his mystery tour of Scotland came to £487.20.
