Award boost for silver jubilee hotel

A Northumberland hotel which this year marks its 25th anniversary has even more cause for celebration after being given a prestigious quality award by VisitBritain.The Macdonald Linden Hall Hotel Golf and Country Club at Longhorsley near Morpeth has achieved four stars and a silver award from the national tourist authority, one of only three hotels in the region to gain this honour. The silver award is given out in recognition of high quality in all areas of the business and for top level service, while the four star status reflects Linden Hall’s high standard of accommodation, its range of facilities, catering and general attention to detail. “These awards are very hard to achieve and are only given out to hotels which offer very high standards,” said a spokesman for Quality in Tourism, who assess the hotels on behalf of VisitBritain.Linden Hall has recently undergone a multi-million pound refurbishment to transform and update the former Georgian mansion but at the same time has retained all of its historical and period detail. Linden Hall General Manager, Bernard Bloodworth said: “We’re delighted to have received this award, particularly in our silver anniversary year. “It’s official recognition of the very high standard of service that we have always offered at Linden Hall.”
