New Tyneside software product launched
A Tyneside company which received over £240,000 research and development grants has just launched its new IT product. Newcastle-based Zullatec’s software provides SMEs with uninterrupted uptime to websites and email services, significantly reducing risk and lost revenue. Downtime of websites and e-mail is generally caused by server and other failures at the hosting company or ISP. UPTIME365’s patent-pending technology takes corrective measures instantly by switching to backup UPTIME365 servers under failure scenarios. It then continues to monitor the customer’s main website and e-mail hosting servers. Once their problems are fixed it automatically switches all website and e-mail traffic back to the regular servers. The product was launched at the North East’s I.T. Works exhibition, where UPTIME365 attracted interest from a broad range of organisations, including end users, IT support companies, web developers and internet service providers. Zullatec’s managing director Philip Aranzulla said: “The product has been developed in the North East and I.T. Works provided the ideal platform to introduce this first version to the market place.” Zullatec received financial support from the DTI, NStar Equity Investors and HSBC to develop its product, which is aimed at small and medium sized companies. Coming versions will also be optimised for larger e-commerce sites and organisations, plus offering full compatibility with Microsoft Exchange Server.
