Film company in spotlight
A Newcastle company is putting the region’s creative industry on the map with a string of national and international contract wins.
twenty first century media, set up by Sam Morton and Caspar Berry in 2002, has won two new contracts with Scottish Gas and Lego (based in Denmark). Previous clients include Nestle, Sage and Nike.
Specialists in the provision of high quality films for business use, twenty first century media has more than doubled its output of films from 60 to 130 in the past year. This is partly due to support from Business Link in Tyne and Wear to develop bespoke film production management software. twenty first century media now employs 15 staff at its offices in Newcastle, Glasgow and Leeds.
Business Link adviser Mali Saha said: “The creative industry is continuing to grow in Tyne and Wear and in NewcastleGateshead alone, creative industries in the cultural and leisure sector employ 21 per cent of people compared with 19 per cent nationally. “twenty first century media is a prime example of the region’s growing presence in this sector and they really are striving to ensure the North East features prominently on the creative industry map.”
