New finance programme for SMEs
A new programme has been launched to help North East small and growing firms find out about the many different types of finance available to them and how they can access it.
NStar’s ‘Finance & business’ programme will be launched at two events later this month: at the University of Teesside, Middlesbrough on 21 November and at the Centre for Life, Newcastle on 23 November. The events will provide a taste of what is to come, from tailored courses, mentoring and a comprehensive web-based guide to the variety and scope of finance available to companies in the region.
Jonathan Gold, director of NStar, said: “Finance is a critical driver of business growth. Research shows that few SMEs are fully aware of the wide availability of different types of finance and how and where to access it. This lack of knowledge has become a significant barrier to growth among firms across the region. “As many businesses evolve and grow there is a requirement for external finance. They need access to relevant and affordable advice and support about managing their finances. “The new NStar service aims to help firms better understand the role of finance – whether that’s equity or debt-based - and train people in how to obtain and sometimes ‘pitch’ for the necessary support.“To book your place contact NStar Finance & business on 0191 211 2300 or email enquiries@nstarfinance.com
