North East young leaders in awards success
A new North East young leaders organisation has scooped two national awards just six months after it was launched. JCI North East England won praise at the national Celebrating Achievement Awards held by Junior Chamber International UK in Newcastle.
Young businessman Haani Ul Hasnain, Chief Executive of Haani Cables in Hartlepool, received The Dale Carnegie ‘Most Outstanding Leader’ award for his efforts to launch and lead the new North East branch. JCI North East England, sponsored by One NorthEast and the North East Chamber of Commerce, also clinched the title of ‘Most Outstanding Membership & Recruitment Programme’.
Haani said: “These awards were unexpected but are a spectacular reward for the many hours of hard work put in by a dedicated team of young rising talent from our region. “JCI North East England offers a unique opportunity for young leaders in their 20s and 30s to be involved in a diverse range of projects both here and abroad. We have built a strong membership in a short period of time and hope to continue growing our numbers over the coming months and years to firmly embed this important organisation for the benefit of the North East’s future.”
JCI is a worldwide organisation with more than 250,000 members across 120 countries. Its alumni include Kofi Annan, Jacques Chirac and Bill Clinton. Its focus is on developing and nurturing the region’s young individuals in areas of business, personal development, community and international activities.
