Business champions to choose prizes
The Federation of Small Businesses is asking companies to suggest the ideal prize for their British Small Business Champions awards. Entrants are asked to show how the prize money would benefit their organisation, and the winner will be given £10,000 to spend as specified. The FSB has opted for this flexible prize because it feels that it is the entrants themselves who really know what would boost their business.
Suggestions from businesses which have entered so far include office equipment, marketing expertise and solar panels, but the majority focus on something that would recognise the efforts of their staff including weekends away and team building programmes. The winning business will also have a donation of £5,000 made to the charity of its choice, as well as £20,000 of advertising in the FSB’s magazine “Business Network” and be presented with a trophy to keep.
BSBC 2007 invites entries from established businesses (trading for more than five years) with up to 50 employees (including sole traders.) UK small businesses have until 31 January 2007 to apply for BSBC 2007. There is no fee to enter and businesses do not have to be a member of the FSB.
