1 in 3 will argue on Christmas afternoon

You’re most likely to squabble with your family between 3pm and 6pm on Christmas day, according to research from Somerfield. And if you’re not arguing with loved ones, you’re avoiding them – 38% of people won’t be seeing family or friends on Christmas day at all.

£29 billion is spent in the UK celebrating the festive season. Food, drink, gifts and other Christmas wares cost on average £633 per person, with an average of £85 going on booze, and £142 on food. Spare a thought for those needy celebs while you’re tucking in to your dinner – 54% of the great British public think Posh Spice is the celebrity “most in need of a good Christmas dinner.” Also in the top ten hungriest-looking celebrities are Nicole Richie, Kate Moss, Paris Hilton, Pete Doherty and ‘Girls Aloud’ (although technically shouldn’t this count as five votes?)
