Europe-wide branding competition
Newcastle’s City Technology Office and Durham Business School are looking for keen young designers to create a logo for a trans-national initiative supported by the European Commission to integrate and encourage women into science and technology business sectors. The project is called DIONE (Diversity IntO Networks across Europe). The logo should be striking in design, contain max 2 colours and be transferable into black and white. It should also reflect several ideas - a learning environment for women in science and technology; mentoring, networking and research opportunities; an international collaboration between Poland, Slovenia, Sweden, and the UK; “bringing women in science and technology together”; and opportunities to build networks and meet business people and researchers.
There is a £335 (€500) prize available for the design which best captures the ideals of the project. The competition is international, with Swedish, Slovenian, Polish and British designers taking part. This opportunity could help to kick-start a design portfolio and is a great chance to add an international client to your profile. To get involved contact Katie Wray on 0191 211 1936 or email your designs in jpeg format to katie.wray@newcastle.gov.uk. The deadline for entries is Friday 19th January 2007. The best design will be published on websites and materials and feature at conferences and events across Europe.
