Gateshead College e-learning winners

Gateshead College’s Information Learning Technology (ILT) coaching team has beaten off competition from across the North of England to be named Team of the Year. The award, set up by the Joint Information Systems Committee’s (JISC) Northern regional support centre, offers an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of learning providers.

Andrew Robson, e-learning development manager for Gateshead College, said: “The award was part of a celebration of e-learning and organisations were invited to nominate lecturers and teams who had demonstrated considerable success in using information technology to support post-16 teaching and learning. “We had a particularly strong cross-college team of staff who both worked together, and separately within college departments. There were some excellent projects and activities that helped to develop our use of ICT and to enliven and improve the quality of teaching and learning.”

Andrew and his team put their award success down to their the way they increased creative use of ILT and generated a supportive and effective climate for innovation, personal development and the development of others.
