Northumberland artist full of Eastern promise
The work of a Northumberland artist is heading east after joining UK Trade & Investment’s ‘Passport to Export’ initiative. Alan Reed’s original paintings and limited edition prints have been selling at exhibitions across the UK since 1981. Through working with UK Trade & Investment, he has secured several commissions in Italy and his latest overseas success has been a commission for the Sultan’s Palace in Oman.
Joyce Rawlings, one of UK Trade & Investment’s International Trade Advisers, said: “Alan really is a wonderful artist and his work has become widely represented in private collections around the world. “Passport proved an ideal way for him to gain access to the support he needed to explore new markets as it offered a tailor-made package to suit his needs. And he has proved you don’t have to be a big company, with lots of staff, to succeed overseas. “With the right product and the right support anyone can win overseas sales and UK Trade & Investment can help you every step of the way.”
