2012 days for businesses to get in shape
Tees Valley firms wanting to secure part of the millions of pounds’ worth of business presented by the Olympics can now find out how to do so, 2012 days ahead of the London launch event. As part of a scheme to encourage local businesses to get fit for London 2012, Business Link’s Tees Valley operation is hosting a practical training seminar on January 23 for local businesses hoping to find out more about the commercial opportunities being offered by the world’s largest sporting event.
‘Winning Business from Big Business’ will provide small and medium sized businesses with information on how to find out about opportunities, who the leading contractors will be and the opportunities for companies in the region. Procurement coach Malcolm Gallagher will present the free training seminar. He will be talking about the opportunities up for grabs in a variety of industries including construction, engineering, food service, hospitality and transport.
Malcolm Taylor, chief executive of Business Link’s Tees Valley operation said: “London 2012 is a huge commercial venture, presenting fantastic opportunities to all sorts of businesses including those here in Tees Valley. “It has been our aim to help raise awareness of these opportunities, and now, through the practical support being made available, businesses can be inspired to go on and compete for large procurement contracts that can boost the economy of the whole area.”
