Celebration of North East PRide
North East England celebrates the successes of the region’s Public Relations (PR) industry this week, with the 2007 Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide Awards. Honoring the region’s public relations industry, the winners will be announced at this week’s awards event at the NewcastleGateshead Hilton on Thursday, which is being supported by the North East England ‘Passionate people. Passionate places’ campaign.
The CIPR PRide Awards recognise and reward best practice in public relations and acknowledge personal and team achievement at the professional level. The judging procedures are rigorous and test the impact of the practice of public relations on society as a whole.
Sarah Hall, deputy head of PR at Golley Slater in Newcastle and CIPR Regional Chair, said: “These awards are about raising industry standards and sharing best practice. The quality of entries is once again very impressive, reflecting the vibrancy and innovation of the PR industry here in North East England. Reaching the final shortlist is a real achievement, and everyone is to be congratulated. “Recent CIPR research shows the UK PR industry is worth over £6 billion and these awards provide the opportunity to showcase the contribution PR makes to business, as well as the best work being carried out in this region.”
The CIPR is the professional body for PR practitioners in the UK. For further information, visit www.cipr.co.uk.
