Catalyst takes to the road
Small and medium-sized businesses in the region are urged to attend one of six free seminars to find out how they can access funding for IT and e-business projects through the recently launched Catalyst2 funding initiative. The six seminars will take place throughout the region and provide businesses with the opportunity to apply for the funding, which offers 50% towards the costs up to a maximum of £2,000.
Project manager Maria Humphreys said: “Last year we assisted over 440 businesses across the region and we successfully part-funded over 80 businesses in actually adopting IT through the Catalyst Pilot Project. “This time round, we’re aiming to provide support and assistance to a further 650 businesses. “The feedback from those we helped last year has been tremendous and we’re eager to take the Catalyst offer to as many businesses in the region as possible.”
Catalyst2 is managed by the North East Regional Portal (TNERP) and supported by One NorthEast. It is expected to run until March 2008. For details about venues and dates for seminars, visit www.n-e-life.com. Demand is expected to be high and it is recommended that places are confirmed by either calling 0191 4872002 or emailing info@n-e-life.co.uk.
