Chance to take a bite of business
Anyone who ever fancied themselves as the next Gordon Ramsay or Jamie Oliver is being invited to a food and leisure business event being served up by Business Link in Tyne and Wear. For those interested or already involved in food production, cooking, selling or serving, the one day event on 15 March in Newcastle offers the chance to explore recipes for money-making success and to mingle with some of the region’s most reputable chefs and restaurateurs.
Bill Oldfield, managing director of Oldfields Restaurants ltd, will be a role model at the event. Bill owns two restaurants in Durham and Jesmond which offer a North East menu where every item on the menu is locally produced, helping to assure quality. Bill will be giving a talk on how he has successfully built up his restaurant chain in the region and will be on hand with practical advice and tips.
Salome McVeigh, enterprise project manager at Business Link in Tyne and Wear said: “This fun filled event is for people toying with the idea of starting a business in food or people whose interests or ambitions lie in the leisure industry. Here people can get food for thought in a lively and supportive atmosphere, and meet others who have made their enterprising ideas happen. “It doesn’t matter what stage you’re at, if you’ve got any previous experience or even if you haven’t got an idea yet, I would encourage any person to come along and hear what it’s like to be your own boss by local people who have put their ideas into action.”
Spaces are limited at the events. Book your free place today by contacting Alison on 0845 245 0212, emailing alison@peopleintoenterprise.com or visiting www.iwant2doit.co.uk for further information.
