Sage on stage at Ruby Ball

Guests at the annual ChildLine Ruby Ball are in for a varied night as a group of young performers from the The Sage Academy are headlining as the event’s cabaret show. ChildLine North East is holding its annual fundraising ball at the Newcastle Gateshead Hilton on Friday 16 March and the core messages of the charity won’t be forgotten in the entertainment, as it gives local young people a voice on stage to kick start the event.

As ChildLine North East aims to provide an influential voice for children and young people, it is staging the cabaret show which will be performed by graduating students from The Sage Academy of Performing Arts. The cabaret is based on the West End’s action packed musical show ‘Five Guys Named Moe’ – a 40s style jazz performance which will start the evening’s events.

Lucy Sage from the Sage Academy said: “We try to constantly inspire our students and this opportunity was appealing in the sense that by performing a live act in front of such a large audience, they will be given a fantastic ‘live’ experience which will hopefully stimulate their aspirations. This is also symbolic in the reasons behind the ball, which are to give young people a voice and help the futures of young people in this region.”
