Cash boost for Tees Valley community groups

The Tees Valley Community Foundation has announced it is delivering Local Network Fund grants, which means eligible community and volunteer groups in the area could get their hands on some much needed cash. The Local Network Fund for Children and Young People (LNF) supports small voluntary and community groups to improve outcomes and opportunities for those aged 0-19, with grants from £250 to £7000.

The Tees Valley Community Foundation (TVCF) works to channel all charitable donations, funding and investment directly into grass roots community groups and projects. Now, the TVCF has been given the opportunity to deliver a proportion of the LNF’s national fund within the Tees Valley.

Hugh McGouran, chief executive of the TVCF, said: “We are delighted to be able to channel this much needed money into the best possible beneficiaries, our organisation works tirelessly to make sure any money, whether it is donations or grants, adds real value to those it is aimed at. “There are many wonderful groups in the Tees Valley, which rely solely on volunteers and the determined attitude of those involved. It’s wonderful to be in a position to help those groups realise their dreams and fulfill their potential.”

While the LNF covers a broad range of groups it can help, it is governed by eligibility and those hoping to apply are urged to visit www.everychildmatters.gov.uk for details.
