North-East Support for China-related Trade
The China Business Association are working with Newcastle’s City Technology Office to provide further opportunitites for china-related business in the North-East. Through events targeting Chinese post-doc researchers, e-enablement of Chinese SMEs in the North East and a series of workshops and events supporting the knowledge economy, the CBA are building their reputation for business support and opening up new networks.
Founded in February 2004, The CBA is a membership organization aimed at assisting North East companies in China-related trade and general business networking.
There are currently three elements to what the CBA do. Firstly, we help government agencies such as One NorthEast, UKTI, NECC, Newcastle City Council, and Gateshead Council in their China-related business and investment activities. Secondly, with our own expertise and partnerships with regional agencies, we can advise local businesses in areas such as the Chinese business culture, the Chinese market and specialist local government support available in the region. We can also help British companies with market research and partner/supplier matchmaking in China. Lastly, CBA organises business seminars, social gatherings and Chinese festival celebrations as a regular meeting place for our members and contacts (mostly British companies, some Chinese companies) to keep up with the market and network with each other.
