EAT your fill at new exhibition

Art lovers who haven’t had their fill after this year’s Tyneside EAT festival can indulge their passion – without the worry of extra calories – at a new exhibition. Visual artist Jac Scott uses sculpture and film to explore the issue of food and its role in life in her new exhibition EAT at the Customs House later this month.

The exhibition follows on from the EAT! NewcastleGateshead festival which gives visitors the opportunity to sample and enjoy the region’s food and drink specialities. Artist Jac uses food, drink and food colourings alongside other materials to create some unusual and interesting images. Grains of rice, coloured water, salt and sugar all play a part in her eye-catching sculptures.

EAT will be at the Sandford Goudie Gallery at the Customs House from 22 April to 20 May. The gallery is open 10am to 8pm Mondays to Saturdays and noon to 8pm on Sundays.

Jac will be giving a free talk explaining the inspiration behind her work at the Customs House on 15 May at 6pm.
