Regional magazine adds up for accountants
The Northern Society of Chartered Accountants (NSCA), which celebrates its 125th anniversary this year, has revived its regular members’ newsletter. The inaugural April issue of Northern Account, an eight-page A4 glossy publication, has just been published and circulated to NSCA members across the North East and Cumbria. The local publication had been withdrawn last autumn when the Institite of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales decided to incorporate its own national newsletter into ‘Accountancy’ magazine and distribute this free to all members.
Rob Barrigan, NSCA President, said “The loss of our regional publication meant the end of direct, regular communication with each of our members, which had always been held to be a critical part of our responsibilities. This was not something we could accept and so we sharpened our pencils and started working immediately to establish a new publication. “I am delighted that we have been able to launch it so soon and I am especially grateful to our two sponsors, Dickinson Dees and Savills, whose early and positive support ensured this was possible.”
Northern Account has been produced by Mills Advertising and Publicity Ltd, of Stokesley. It features reports from the society’s three branches – Tyne and Wear, Cumberland and Teesside – and the Northern Chartered Accountants Students’ Society, as well as related news and information from around the region.
