Firm is storing future in liquid assets
Liquid assets are the future for a Gateshead based storage and warehousing company. The Storage Place has officially become the only storage service company in the North East that can stock both hazardous liquid materials outdoors and thousands of gallons of alcoholic drinks indoors. Liquid storage of many varieties, thanks to the company’s Drum Park facility for dangerous goods and the bonded warehouse status awarded by HM Customs and Excise, has led to a 20% increase in business over the past 12 months.
Michael Meredith, managing director at the Storage Place said: “Businesses that need to store drums of hazardous materials, including liquid substances often find that this takes up vast amounts of square footage which could be put to more productive use, not to mention the staff training required to just manage the stock in storage. Our team of expert staff can now handle these goods for business in a safe and secure environment until they need to recall it or have it safely disposed of.”
“We seem to be carving a niche in the storage of liquid goods – from champagne to paint related materials, we are the only storage company in the North East that has the health and safety and relevant licensing to store such materials.”
The Storage Place has invested £35,000 in CCTV, security gates, access control and software to project manage the new drum park facility and a further £70,000 on interior security, racking and software to manage the bonded warehouse account.
