The art of business in Alnwick
A new business venture has been announced which will provide The Alnwick Garden with its very own art gallery. The Art Works Galleries, Ouseburn, Newcastle have joined forces with The Alnwick Garden providing a revolving exhibition of eight different artists each month showing a range of work across various mediums. The gallery will be based in The Visitor Centre at The Garden which means both paying and non paying visitors will be able to view and purchase the range of 40 artworks by North East artists.
Matt Forster, The Art Works Galleries co-director and resident artist, said: “We are extremely excited about this venture. “Mike Dukes, Managing Director of The Alnwick Garden came to one of our monthly previews and admired our unique style of presenting and selling original artwork and wanted us to re-create this at The Alnwick Garden. “The Alnwick Garden team have wanted to exhibit the work of local artists for some time and I am honoured that they have chosen The Art Works Galleries to do this.”
Mike Dukes said: “We are delighted to be working with The Art Works Galleries, to give visitors the chance to view an interesting range of work from artists working in the North East. The Garden already presents a great programme of performance events and creative activities throughout the year, and the new exhibition is an exciting development.”
The Art Works Galleries at The Alnwick Garden is now open to the public, every day from 10am–6pm. For further information contact The Art Works Galleries on info@theartworksgalleries.com or The Alnwick Garden on info@alnwickgarden.com.
