Opening doors to a new career
An award-winning North East employer is holding an open day to encourage local people to consider a career at its Sunderland offices as part of its latest jobs push. EDF Energy recently announced plans to create a further 200 jobs at its Sunderland-based customer service centre and is holding an open day on Saturday 19 May for anyone interested in joining the company.
Visitors to the open day will be given a tour which will take in the work areas, rest zones, gym and restaurants. The recruitment team will be on hand to answer any questions and will also be available to help prospective employees to fill out application forms. There will also be the option to have a preliminary interview on the day and, if successful, they will be called back to take part in an assessment day.
Kevin Gatens, senior operations manager at Doxford, said: “Our business is growing and we need to increase our resource base to ensure we continue to provide a great service to our customers. We are holding an open day so that people can come and have a look at what we do and decide whether they might like to work for us. People can also find out about the training and personal development opportunities available, as well as the excellent employee benefits.”
EDF Energy currently holds the title of Durham and Wearside Employer of the Year from the Sunderland Echo’s Portfolio Business Awards.
Anyone wishing to attend the open day should go along to EDF Energy at Doxford International Business Park between 10am and 3pm on May 19.
