Budding web reporters wanted
Wannabe journalists, reviewers and photographers are needed to take part in a new County Durham youth project. Darlington Council’s Youth Service website, e-Vibe, is becoming more interactive and it is hoped young people around the Borough will get involved.
The Youth Service is hoping to recruit a group of young people who will receive training and then write reviews of films, bands, books, shops, fashion, cafes and sporting events, which will be posted on the website. The e-Vibe reporters will be able to submit their views on events and activities in Darlington and further afield. Once the new e-Vibe pages are live, visitors to will be asked to comment on what is featured and submit their own reviews for possible publication.
Chris McEwan, Darlington Council’s Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “As well as giving young people the chance to learn new skills and see their work on-line, the new e-Vibe pages will provide a wealth of information for young people about what they can do and see around the region.”
Anyone interested in taking part should call Michael Clark on 07939018648 or email michael.clark@darlington.gov.uk.
