Bringing a new wardrobe to the North East

A new consultancy service is aiming to help women across the North East look fabulous, feel great, and get a wardrobe to be proud of. Claire Taperell hopes to transform the style of ladies in the region by the launch of her own personal image company, Chrysalis Image Consultancy, which specialises in personal colour analysis, personal shopping, style and body image workshops and wardrobe editing.

It has taken Claire 18 months to evolve the business since embarking on a Personal Colour Analysis and Female Style and Image course with Colourflair Studios in Brighton. She says that this provided her with the necessary qualifications to gain entry into the Federation of Image Consultants.

Claire said: “It was after the birth of my daughter that I realised I wanted to do create a business out of something that I enjoyed, so I began formal image training that has led me to where I am today. I would sum up the business as a ‘Fashion Fixer,’ however I would not compare myself to a Trinny and Susannah role as I dislike their ruthless tactics and feel their insensitivity would scare most women off a mile. “Chrysalis is about making you look and feel fabulous regardless of age, lifestyle or budget, all you have to have is an interest in looking good.”

Claire is aiming to expand her services into retail outlets where she can work as an independent consultant, and also hopes to produce a series of training courses based on style and image to offer to adult education centres. She is also hoping to recruit her first member of staff within the first year and offer in-house training so they can assist with all Chrysalis services.
