International IT Conference welcomes discussion
A long-established information technology exhibition is welcoming an international conference as part of this year’s showcase. Following ten years of IT Works, an International Conference will run alongside the exhibition for the first time. The International IT in the Community Conference features internationally renowned speakers from companies such as Microsoft and BT, as well as a panel debate from the North East Regional IT Directors’ Forum, hosted by Nigel Wright.
The Conference takes place 5–6 July at The University of Sunderland has a total of 12 parallel sessions over the two days. One of the sessions will be a unique opportunity for delegates at the conference to ask some of the most influential IT heads in the North East questions on a range of key current issues through the North East Regional IT Directors’ Forum.
Highlighted topics include: How small organisations are able to get their message across on a world wide web dominated by global and national organisations, mobile computing, business continuity – getting an organisation up and running when the lights go out and how to keep them on in the first place, and how the IT agenda needs to respond to new challenges such as global warming.
Sue Ormerod, Head of IT recruitment for Nigel Wright said: “I think the opportunity to bring together such a talented and experienced group of people is an excellent chance to share knowledge with others that can really benefit from their insight into IT. This is a unique chance for delegates to put their questions to the region’s top IT Directors.”
Chris Laws, Project Manager of the International IT in the Community Conference said: “The programme for this year’s inaugural conference boasts a huge array of knowledge and experience from a range of organisations on a regional, national and international level. The North East Regional IT Directors’ forum will certainly showcase the talent we have in the area and offer delegates the chance to procure information from key IT directors.”
There are still delegate places remaining on the conference. To find out more visit www.itevent.org/itcommunity or contact Chris Laws on 0191 2414523.
