STEP business award shortlist revealed
The shortlist of South Tyneside businesses vying for cash and honours at the tenth annual STEP (South Tyneside Enterprise Partnership) awards has been announced. Some of the best performing businesses in the Borough of South Tyneside will be celebrated at what is promised to be the biggest ceremony in the awards’ ten year history.
For the first time awards come with cash prizes for £1,000 in the category sections with an additional £2,500 on offer to the overall winner. This year the STEP Awards has been supported by South Tyneside Means Business which aims to help businesses in the Borough grow and develop.
There are eight categories in all with one of the category winners set to be named Business of the Year during the award ceremony which is set to take place at the Quality Hotel on Boldon Business Park on Thursday 28 June from 6.30pm.
Geoff Ford, chairman of STEP, said: “This year promises to be the best yet and judging by the entries it is clear there is some great work being done in the Borough. “We had a record number of entries this year and the calibre is very high indeed. It was inspiring to hear what phenomenal activity is going on and I feel the eventual winners will enthuse and motivate other businesses across the Borough.”
The overall winner will be chosen from the following businesses, all of which are up for awards in other categories: Rohm and Haas UK Ltd, Harlow Printing Ltd, Jag Productions, Pet Supermarket, Pet Supermarket, Simply Workwear, Katy Sue Designs, LS Care Ltd, Solar Solve Ltd, Bottled and Boxed, Hanson Wealth Management, Training in Childcare, Filtrona Filters, Ford Component Manufacturing, Solar Solve Ltd, and Tharsus Engineering Ltd.
