Online service helps Sunderland firms win more work
Sunderland City Council has launched a new online service to help Sunderland companies do business with the UK public sector, which spends £150 billion each year. The service is managed by Nimis Limited, a North East company that provides outsourced tender notification solutions to clients across Europe.
Cheryl Jones at Sunderland City Council said: “We all recognise the financial, social and environmental advantages to the area, when local companies win contracts. Our team, the Business Investment Team, along with Corporate Procurement and Nimis Limited, have worked hard over the past year developing a system which is about to go live.”
TenderTap provides a joined up approach enabling the procurement function to better achieve its targets relating to publishing opportunities and a suite of business development tools, providing the means to alert local companies to the opportunities to supply Sunderland Council, all regional Councils, and all public bodies. The system contains a library of over 2 million contract and tender documents, assisting users to find new markets, identify new customers, and see trends in existing markets including how successful their competitors are. Along with Sunderland City Council, Nimis will be demonstrating TenderTap at IT Works on 5 and 6 July at St Peter’s Campus, University of Sunderland.
Steve Gregory, director of Sunderland-based Nimis, said: “Sunderland City lead the region when it comes to implementing new measures to help companies to embrace new opportunities. This facility gives local businesses a single source to access hundreds of new opportunities each week, covering Sunderland, the North East, Europe and beyond.”
