Entrepreneur Launch Pad lands in Tees Valley
The North East Enterprise Bond’s Launch Pad vehicle is bringing an interactive dimension to a careers drive for young people in Tees Valley. As part of the Skill Up Tees Valley event, thousands of local youngsters will have the chance to step on board and test their entrepreneurial flair from 17–19 July at Middlesbrough Football ground. The Launch Pad is one of two state of the art vehicles currently touring the region to encourage people to be more enterprising within their communities and to consider setting up their own business.
Carol Hodgson of Skill Up Tees Valley said: “The event has been designed to motivate young adults to think openly about the wide range of opportunities available to them, with competitions, goodie bags and lots of exciting incentives to inspire them to think about their futures throughout the three days.”
Diane Fisher-Naylor, Chief Executive of the North East Enterprise Bond said: “Our aim is to take the enterprise message to the streets of the region and the Skill Up Tees Valley event allows us to reach many young people who we want to inspire to be the entrepreneurs of the future. “Our activities over the three days will focus on encouraging young people to explore what being enterprising means and also to share with us their aspirations for the future. We also want to put them in touch with organisations that can help them to take their ideas forward.”
There will also be a free bus service to the event from surrounding areas. For more information about this and visiting the Launch Pad at Skill Up Tees Valley from 17–19 July visit www.skillupteesvalley.co.uk where there is an online application for tickets.
