North East business services specialists appoint new Chair
National supply chain development, international trade and businesses to business event management specialists, Business & Enterprise Group have appointed a new Chair.
Martyn Pellew will take up the post at the North East-based services group, alongside his role on the board of Billingham’s Pearson-Harper Ltd, who work in engineering content management and IT for the global oil and gas sector.
Martyn, who is also President of the British Chambers of Commerce, said: “I am delighted to take on this important role with such a successful and ambitious Group.
“The Business & Enterprise Group has a formidable customer base and a growing UK wide presence in a range of growth markets.
“Our plans for the future are based on continued investment and growth.”
He takes over the Chair from high profile business figure Roy Stanley, who is standing down after four years at the helm.
Roy commented: “It’s been a fantastic four years where we have achieved an enormous amount on behalf of the businesses we work with.
“During that period we helped over 50,000 entrepreneurs and businesses to succeed and grow.
“The Group has grown from being a regional operation to a national outfit with enormous potential.”
Chief executive of the BE Group, Alastair MacColl also added: “We’re very grateful to Roy for helping to lead our Board through what has been a demanding but ultimately very rewarding period.
“I am extremely pleased that Roy has been able to hand over his position to another experienced and high profile Chair in Martyn, who we know shares our vision for the future.”
