Lintz Hall egg farmers merge with Sunny Hall

Tyne valley egg producer Lintz Hall Farm have announced a merger with one of the UK’s leading egg farmers, Sunny Hill Free Range Eggs.

The North East, family-run business will join with the Scottish farmer in September in a deal that will allow Sunny Hill to focus on egg production and bird welfare, while Lintz Hall will use their production, marketing and distribution experience to benefit the relationship.

Turnover for Lintz Hall Farm, which has been run by the Tulip family for four generations, has increased fivefold since 2007, to beat out local competition despite the economic climate.

Richard Tulip at Lintz Hall Farm commented: “This merger, together with our new state of the art packing and distribution centre ensures that both Lintz Hall Farm and Sunny Hill Free Range Eggs will continue to produce and supply local fresh eggs for many years to come.

““Like Sunny Hill Free Range Eggs, we are a farming family and we share many of the same principles. We pride ourselves on providing top quality locally produced eggs with a personal local service that our customers know they can rely on.”

Catherine Armstrong, who runs Sunny Hill Free Range Eggs said: ““In future, distribution and marketing will be completed by Lintz Hall Farm.
