Teesside engineering apprenticeships gain Government funding boost

Government funding has opened up 100 engineering placements in Middlesbrough with TTE Technical Training Group.

The charitable organisation will be recruiting trainees to join its 164 current students at its headquarters on Thursday.

Improved training provision and new schemes were made possible by funding from the Government, which will introduce more students to a wide range of engineering disciplines.

TTE is able to provide training in industry specific areas which include oil and gas, manufacturing and engineering sectors from its centre is Teesside.

The charity re-invests excesses from commercial ventures into the development of its “Pathway and Advanced Level Apprenticeship” schemes.

Managing director of TTE, Steve Grant, commented: “This is a great opportunity for young people to take a hugely positive career move.

“This additional funding opens the door to technical skills and qualifications, with a range of exciting career options lying ahead.

“Apprenticeships are an increasingly popular option for young people, and continue to be a great way to get into a rewarding career.

He added: “Simply coming along and seeing us could be the first step toward being here at TTE next week, learning about the engineering disciplines on offer and working towards an Advanced Level Apprenticeship, which would be Apprenticeship sponsored by an employer from the oil & gas, process, manufacturing and engineering sectors.”
