National Chairman role for North East BIC man
The chief executive of the North East Business and Innovation Centre (BIC) has been appointed chairman of the National Enterprise Network (NEN).
Paul McEldon, who is chief executive of the regional agency and business complex, has been appointed at the NEN’s annual conference in Manchester today.
The NEN is a national membership body for organisations committed to the support and development of enterprise.
NEN members are drawn from enterprise support organisations across England, and last year collectively supported over 69,000 pre-starts and 76,000 established businesses.
Commenting on his new role, Paul said: “The BIC is dedicated to building successful businesses in the North East region, and as part of this strategy we have been fortunate enough to work with a wide variety of likeminded organisations both locally and nationally.
“The NEN has a superb track record, helping to ensure businesses and individuals have access to information by effectively positioning its members as the focus for enterprise activity and support.
“It was a real honour to be invited to be national chair of NEN, and I am really looking forward to taking up the role.”
The Sunderland-based BIC offer businesses flexible office and industrial space to let, as well as a range of support services.
