GrowthAccelerator launches in Newcastle

GrowthAccelerator Newcastle is set to launch this week, as DC Thomson chief executive, Ellis Watson, talks to businesses as an expert in growth.

Ellis will address businesses at the Discovery Museum in Newcastle on Wednesday October 17, sharing his experiences from his time as head of Syco Entertainment, the Simon Cowell and Sony venture, where he ran the global format and commercial strategies for X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.

He thinks the current climate can actually provide a springboard for positive internal change and an opportunity for growth.

Michael Taylor, founder of Think More, chairman of Downtown Manchester and former editorial director of Insider, will host the event, and will share some of his thoughts following a recent trade mission to California’s Silicon Valley.

The event will also feature a panel of experts from regional companies, local business professionals and Growth Coaches, who will talk about how they have successfully grown their own business, and how GrowthAccelerator can help.

The GrowthAccelerator public-private partnership scheme is designed to deliver support to growing businesses, through advisors who can help firms to overcome significant obstacles.

It focuses on areas such as commercialising innovation, access to finance, developing leadership skills and business development.

The event runs from 4.15pm in the Great Hall at the Discovery Museum, finishing with networking, drinks and canapés from 7pm.
