NECC launches export training scheme
A training qualification that aims to boost skills in trade has been launched by the North East Chamber of Commerce (NECC) in support of the Government’s agenda to “Get Britain Exporting”.
A National Trade Skills scheme will offer training days to boost export skills in North East businesses, and to boost the capabilities of staff in small and medium sized businesses.
NECC will guide employees through six modules over the course of a day, which will target the specific needs of SMEs, and those who pass will receive a nationally recognised Foundation Award in International Trade.
Brian Dakers, NECC Export Service Manager, commented: “The North East is the only English region with a positive balance of trade and with increasing numbers of businesses exploring potentially lucrative overseas markets it is vital that our workforce is equipped with the skills to exploit export opportunities.
“This qualification offers a real opportunity for SMEs and their employees to gain skills and experience within exporting. “This Foundation Award could contribute significantly to the Government’s aim to create 100,000 new exporters.”
