Web company 4th aspect granted investment from syndicate

Web marketing company, 4th aspect has won half a million dollars of investment from a syndicate of private investors.

The North East company has completed the first stage of the investment, with Rivers Capital Partners, managers of the £7.5m North East Angel Fund leading the investment round.

Tweed Renaissance Investors Capital, a syndicate of private investors based in the Scottish Borders invested 50% of the funding round.

Rob Dick, Chairman of TRI Cap, said: “We are excited by the opportunity to invest in 4th aspect and are looking forward to working closely with the team in their efforts to achieve the significant potential we believe exists for the 4th aspect products in this fast-moving market”.

The money will allow the company to fund a commercial launch of 4th aspect PRO and 4th aspect LITE initially in the UK and then to the global market.

Natalia Blagburn, Investment Manager at Rivers said: “We are extremely delighted to have completed the investment with one of the leading business angel syndicates in Scotland.

“We have seen the company go from strength to strength since we first backed 4th aspect last year.

“This is TRI Cap’s first investment in a company outwith Scotland.”

4th aspect is a web-based SEO and web marketing tool founded by Dave and Claire Glynn in 2010.

The couple came up with 4th aspect after becoming frustrated at the lack of a product that could help them efficiently achieve higher Google rankings for the web clients in their digital services agency.

The investment comes on the same day that the company scooped two awards in the Innovation and ICT categories at the North East Business Awards.

The company has two version of the product, 4th aspect PRO for digital agencies managing websites for their clients and 4th aspect LITE for business owners managing their own websites.

The product has IP patents pending in both the US and UK for unique aspects of the technology, including its ‘Link Builder’ application.

Dave Glynn said: “Securing this investment will enable 4th aspect to further enhance a great product and present it to a much wider audience.

“As part of the expansion we are delighted to be creating three new roles and are currently seeking a Sales Director, a Telesales Assistant and a Helpdesk Advisor”.

Claire Glynn added: “It’s fantastic to win not one but two awards and the publicity opportunities and credibility that this brings”.
