Manchester United signs sponsor deal with INVEX
Manchester United have signed a four-year sponsorship deal with Mexican banking group, INVEX.
The football club has granted exclusive rights for the bank to produce and market Manchester United branded credit cards to the club’s 24m Mexican followers.
INEX was founded in 1991 and has branches in all of Mexico’s principal cities, with annual revenues of $252m and over 100,000 credit card customers.
United’s commercial director Richard Arnold said: “Mexico is well known for its love of football and Manchester United is lucky enough to have some 24 million loyal and passionate followers in the country.
“No-one could forget the fantastic reception the club received in 2010 when the team opened the Chivas Stadium in Guadalajara. Our partnership with INVEX shows our commitment to these fans and we are delighted to be partnering with such an innovative organisation.
“INVEX has recognised Manchester United’s popularity in Mexico and together we will work to bring those fans not just a great opportunity to engage with the club, but also a winning financial product.”
Juan Guichard, chief executive of INVEX, added: “We are extremely proud to be the first bank in Mexico to place in the market a Manchester United Credit Card.
“It is a great honour to link our 100% Mexican brand with the most successful football club in the UK and one of the most important teams in the entire world.
“At INVEX we work hard to be not just a bank, but a financial partner, that is why alliances like this are so meaningful to us. I’m sure Manchester United’s fans will be highly interested in all the great benefits of using this new credit card.”
