Manchester charity travel specialists among UK's fastest growing
Manchester-based Diversity Travel has been selected by former Tesco boss Sir Terry Leahy as one of Britain’s “vital 6%” of businesses.
Accelerate 250 is a group of the UK’s fastest growing businesses, championed by Leahy, and encompasses a wide range of industries.
The £24m business specialises in travel management for charities and not-for-profit organisations, and now works with major NGOs such as ActionAid and The Salvation Army.
This week Accelerate companies gathered in Liverpool to hear from entrepreneurs and business experts including Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, BBC business editor, Robert Peston and Emma Jones, founder of Enterprise Nation.
At the event, Diversity Travel represented the travel management industry and contribute to discussions around finance and innovation culture
Diversity Travel Director, Christopher Airey, said: “For the past three years we have been listed as a one of the fastest growing travel management companies in the UK and the fastest in the not for profit sector.
“It’s fantastic to be included in the ACCELERATE 250, which acknowledges that our growth rate is significant at a national level, across all market sectors.
“We are still a young and ambitious company planning further substantial growth and we’re determined to achieve this without affecting the high levels of personal service that our clients value.”
Leahy is now the Prime Minister’s special adviser on Enterprise and is backing the Accelerate scheme as the “nucleus” of British high-growth activity.
