North West trade delegation to visit Poland

Manufacturers from the North West have been invited on a trade delegation to Poland, supported by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI).

Advanced manufacturers and companies from the chemical and food and drink sectors have been asked to take part in a visit to Warsaw, where businesses will be informed by an expert visit leader.

Poland is the largest EU country in Central and Eastern Europe and has the biggest consumer market in the new EU states with a population of 38 million.

Poland has seen continual economic growth since becoming part of the EU, and has benefitted from significant funding worth €67bn between 2007 and 2013.

Businesses on the trip will benefit from market and sector briefings before, during and after the trip and help identifying potential customers and partners.

Robin Barnett, HM Ambassador to Poland, commented: “For SMEs looking to take the first step entering a lower-risk EU market with less saturation than usual suspects like France and Germany, Poland can make a lot of sense. Poland’s the major destination companies haven’t usually thought of, but really should.”

The mission will set off on 27th October and will be supported by AIM EDRF, while financial support may be available for eligible North West companies.
