Durham fashion fest calls for North East designers
A Durham fashion event is on the look-out for designers and creatives from across the North East.
‘Fashion InDurham’ will give local designers the opportunity to showcase their designs as the event aims to promote the city centre.
The five days of fashion fuelled activities between October 16-20 is organised by Durham Business Improvement District (Durham BID).
Sonali Craddock, Durham BID manager, said: “We are looking for local designers to get involved with what is set to be a great new event for Durham.
“We have a great mix of high street and boutique retailers in Durham and this event will help to promote Durham as a premium destination in the North East.”
The organisers want to celebrate Durham’s shopping credentials and participating retailers will include: Toni & Guy, Greenwoods, 1860 Suit Hire, Fred Dealer, Woven, Andersons of Durham, Superdry, Sorella, Ding Dong Vintage, Warm Sanctuary Ltd, Saks, City Attic, Vintage Princess, Jack Wills, Sirens, Ann Summers, hotter and East.
Venues around the city, including Town Hall, Fat Buddha, Slug & Lettuce, Whisky River, Durham Castle, Love Shack, Gala Theatre, Varsity and Bishop Langley will be host events which include catwalks, ladies lunches, gentleman’s evenings and some great promotions.
The vent will also feature a “late night shopping” experience as some of Durham’s retailers will be open until 9pm.
Those interested in showcasing their work should contact info@durhambid.co.uk.
