North West companies offered China trade mission
Twelve North West businesses are preparing to visit Shanghai and Chongqing to explore new opportunities, and others are encouraged to follow suit.
The UKTI-led delegation from Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire and Cheshire will visit China’s largest industry event, the China International Industry Fair (CIIF) in November.
Philomena Chen, Head of Asia Pacific Business Development for UKTI North West said: “China is the great economic success story of the past 30 years. Growth has been sustained and the economy grew by almost 9% in 2012.
“However, while the opportunities are plentiful, it is a large and complex market and businesses need to keep up with developments.
“Attending a UKTI led mission is an ideal way to visit the market, whether selling, trading, investing or franchising, as businesses can take advantage of detailed market information and warmed leads from our team based in embassies and consulates throughout China.”
Companies already signed up for the trip include Amicus Solicitors, CBI Global Freight, Night & Day UK, Odlings Mcr Ltd, Shire Tractors, Somerford Equipment, K-A-T Ltd, Far East Consulting, International Football Connections, Language Brand Communication, Lanhai Career Management and Visun International.
UKTI is encouraging other interested businesses to register before the deadline of Friday September 27 via emailing events@uktinorthwest.co.uk or contact Miho Hatakeyama on 0161 875 2333.
