Panel Warehouse steps into the world of art with Sphinx Media

Panel Warehouse – the Manchester-based manufacturer of office screens, display boards and panels – has secured a significant contract with media consultancy, Sphinx Media, as part of an extensive exhibition to chart this year’s Reading Festival.

The contract included the design, manufacture and production of a number of portable display boards to meet the requirements of Sphinx Media.

The Reading-based company – owned by established photographer, Malcolm Bassett-Smith – has produced a series of photographs documenting this year’s festival.

The images form a complete timeline of the music event and will be exhibited for four months in several locations across the city, including Green Park, which houses over 6,000 employees from some of the UK’s leading corporations.

Bassett-Smith said: “We originally considered renting panels for the exhibition, however, after some research we discovered that it was more cost effective to purchase the display boards from Panel Warehouse. Its customer service and quick turnaround on production and delivery were second-to-none!”

In addition to Green Park, the photographs have been exhibited at Reading railway station and are soon to be shown in Broad Street Mall. The huge footfall in these locations will result in a high level of exposure.

“It was for this reason that the quality and aesthetics of the panels was so important” Bassett-Smith added. “The ability to also customise the colours of the panels was a real bonus, as I was able to match them to the corporate colours used by the festival organisers, which helped create an extremely professional-looking exhibition.”

Lyn Boardman, Operations Director of Panel Warehouse, said: “It was essential to provide Sphinx Media with a product that could be easily transported and assembled, as well as showcase the extensive photographic display. With a tight deadline, we were able to manufacture and distribute the panels to the client in less than 72 hours.

“The Reading Festival is attended each year by over 90,000 people, so we’re delighted to be a part of such an interesting exhibition that celebrates and captures the annual event.”

Sphinx Media’s exhibition will run until 3rd November.
