Workers on oil rigs in the North Sea, many of whom live in the north east, will be the first to benefit from using the software, before a planned rollout worldwide.
DDL specialise in creating learning and assessment software and their expertise in this area has been fundamental in Wood Group PSN choosing to adopt their e-portfolio system.
DDL’s managing director, David Gardner, said: “This contract places DDL at the forefront of online competency management in the oil and gas sector. It will be a key component towards making oil and gas installations worldwide safer and more secure working environments.”
Lynne Duthie, head of Learning & Development, WGPSN, added: “Implementing E-qual Electronic Portfolio within WGPSN supports our Safety and Assurance Core Value. By having a best in class system to demonstrate that our workers are competent to fulfil their roles, we can be sure that they have the skills and knowledge they need to do their job and return home safely.”
