Young North East entrepreneurs set up not-for-profit marketing outfit

A trio of North East entrepreneurs have set up a not-for-profit marketing and communications firm targeted at the Third Sector.

Victoria Dunn, Annelleise Miles and Gillian McDonough had the idea to start a voluntary-led marketing agency to support charities and social enterprises across the region after witnessing fierce funding cuts across the sector.

Third Sector Marketing and Communications is launched this week with an initial team of 16 volunteers from universities across the region.

The firm will utilise Victoria’s expertise as current marketing and fundraising manager for Age UK South Tyneside and Annelleise’s first class marketing degree to offer support to the sector.

Victoria commented: “Small/medium sized not for profit organisations do not have the resources to employ a marketing professional or pay marketing agency fees, meaning marketing has often been added as an additional duty to many people’s normal job descriptions.

“However, now charities, social enterprises and voluntary organisations are becoming more aware that their audiences are changing and the way they present themselves and their services need to be reviewed.”

The organisation aims to offer: strategy and campaign planning, research, branding, PR, design, and social media support. More information on Third Sector Marketing and Communications is available here.
