Tangerine PR shortlisted for Euro award
Manchester-based Tangerine PR has been shortlisted for the Agency of the Year accolade at the European Excellence Awards 2013.
Broadening its horizons from the UK into international territory, the agency is nominated alongside four European-wide PR companies - Ketchum, FTI Consulting, Edelman and Burson-Marsteller EMEA – in recognition of its company-wide initiative, ‘Freshly Squeezed’.
The nomination comes hot on the heels of two further international honours for Tangerine in 2013. The agency was shortlisted at the global EMEA Gold SABRE Awards for its CSR work with Michelin and has since been ranked in the top 10 of the world’s fastest-growing PR agencies by global public relations researcher, The Holmes Group.
The ‘Freshly Squeezed’ initiative was implemented following Tangerine’s 10th birthday and its 50th employee, to ensure neither event allowed any complacency to creep into the company’s processes.
Employees were asked which elements of the business would benefit from a tiny tweak or a complete overhaul and so far, working parties have reviewed recruitment, appraisals, mentors, client charter & evaluation.
The European Excellence Awards – held on Thursday 5th December at the Postpalast in Munich - recognise and reward best practice in public relations throughout Europe, using a jury of public relations professionals to shortlist the best of the best.
Sandy Lindsay, Tangerine’s founder and Group MD, said: “We were lost for words when the shortlist was announced. We’re all incredibly proud of ‘Freshly Squeezed’, so to have this work recognised on an international scale is nothing short of amazing.
“2013 has been a fantastic year for the agency and award nominations like this are a testament to how hard everyone works here – I couldn’t be prouder.
“Tangerine was created to prove it is possible to run an ethical and profitable PR company and that these aims are not mutually exclusive. In light of this, we took it upon ourselves to listen to our employees and find out more about what they wanted from their careers.
“Our people are at the centre of everything we do and we introduced these processes to ensure we attract and retain the best professionals in the industry. Feedback so far has been universally positive.”
