Growth Hub sets up marketing team

The Greater Manchester Business Growth Hub has created its own in-house marketing team, appointing staff.

Marketing manager Julie Woodward will head the new team. She has worked in both the public and private sector, including stints with Manchester City Council, Marketing Manchester and Marriott International.

She said: “We are focussing extensively on our online and digital activity, as well as co-ordinating our media partners, PR, social media and events programmes to ensure maximum impact and presence for the Hub”.

Her department will promote the products and services offered by the Business Growth Hub, which include access to digital technology, business mentors, finance and start-up advice.

Andrea Wolfendale, formerly with Insider Media, is the Hub’s Events Manager, and she will be assisted by events co-ordinator Ben Jones. Alex Herod is the team’s marketing and communications executive.

The new roles are part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Regional Growth Fund.

Established in 2011, the Business Growth Hub has helped thousands of businesses across Greater Manchester, from established and large companies to start-ups and SME enterprises.

Accountable to the Greater Manchester Local Enterprise Partnership, the Hub helps firms to realise their growth potential by offering access to a range of practical services, from assessing growth options to unlocking finance or accessing experienced business mentors.
