Liverpool in London moves closer to The City

Liverpool’s London ‘Embassy’ has moved closer to the financial heart of the Capital as it announces another new member to its business club.

Liverpool in London, a public/private sector collaboration to promote Liverpool to London investors, had been based at the former home of the Royal Mint in Tower Hill since September 2011.

Operations are now located at Warnford Court, 29, Throgmorton Street, London EC2N 2AT - the former home of the Stock Exchange.

The news comes as Morecroft Solicitors becomes the 38th member of the London mission which since its inception in January 2011 has generated more than £3.95m of new business and brought in £23m of investment for the city of Liverpool.

Most recently, Innov8 Safety Solutions, based in Bromborough, Wirral, as a result of their membership were appointed by John Laing to provide construction design and management services on a £120m development at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

Joe Anderson, Mayor of Liverpool, said: “Liverpool in London is a continuing success and has generated significant business for Liverpool and city region companies and brought in new investment into our city.

“Our London office has also been achieving its aims of raising the city’s profile and helping Liverpool representatives earn the right to sit round the table with high level London investors and decision makers.

“It is also playing a major part in our preparations for the International festival for Business 2014, the hugely important national event hosted here in Liverpool and the city region.”

Positioned right in the heart of The City on Throgmorton Street next to the bank of England, Warnford Court is a short walk from Bank, Moorgate and Liverpool Street Stations.

Formerly the offices of The Stock Exchange, Throgmorton Street has an illustrious history, named after Nicholas Throckmorton, chief banker of England during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I and once the home of Thomas Cromwell, King Henry VIII’s chief minister.

Liverpool in London has two offices at Warnford Court for hot-desking for members and a boardroom, as well as access to the buildings event spaces and catering facilities.

Max Steinberg, chief executive of Liverpool Vision, which has been partnering the City Council to deliver the embassy project, said: “Liverpool in London will continue to be part of a wider mission to sell the city in a more co-ordinated and compelling way.

“What has been so encouraging is the collaboration that we have enjoyed with our business sector and I know they are pleased that following the decision by the owners of our previous base to sell the premises that we have found a new location closer to The City and Westminster.”
