BAE seeks apprentices at Washington base
Defence manufacturer BAE Systems is recruiting two apprentices to its Washington base.
The apprentices are sought for the engineering giant’s Radial Park Road munitions operation in Washington.
The positions are part of BAE’s biggest ever intake of apprentices, beginning in September 2014.
A total of 568 apprentices will join the firm’s sites across the UK next year, adding to the 32,000 already employed.
BAE say half of their senior executives working on the military aircraft business joined as apprentices.
Nigel Whitehead, group managing director at BAE Systems said: “Our additional intake of apprentices this year reflects workload requirements at the submarines business but the number also demonstrates the fantastic contribution and value that apprenticeships bring to BAE Systems.
“Apprentices are a vital part of our talent pool and we find that our training programmes really help young people develop their full potential and become financially stable at a relatively young age. This is a win-win situation for our apprentices, our Company and the wider economy.”
The closing date for applications is February 28. Those interested can find out more here.
