The North West Fund gives SLL the green light with £100k investment
A Merseyside LED lighting provider has secured a £100k investment from The North West Fund for Energy & Environment,
Sign Lights Ltd (SLL), based in Hoylake, Merseyside, develops energy efficient lighting, and will introduce two new products to its range with the funding received.
The LEC Light ceiling-fitted light and the Lighting ROD sign illumination device will be marketed to electrical wholesales, specifiers and users. They will provide environmentally-friendly alternatives to fluorescent tube lighting and signs.
SLL managing director Howard Matthews said: “The £100,000 investment from The North West Fund for Energy & Environmental is a vital injection into our business, as we are now able to expand our line to include more innovative lighting solutions to a range of customers.
“We are dedicated to providing lighting that cuts energy and costs for users, and the funding we have received means that we can develop our diffusion lines to make this possible for a larger audience.”
Michael Bakewell, investment director at 350 IP said: “We were impressed by Sign Lights Ltd’s commitment to producing sustainable lighting for a diverse selection of clients. Since establishing the business in 2008, SLL has developed a number of energy efficient lighting products for the sign market, and has enjoyed impressive growth.
“With similar growth projected for the illuminations market as a whole, we are excited to assist our newest investment in reaching its full potential.”
Sign Lights Ltd will channel the funding into new tooling and an increased sales and marketing effort to more widely promote its product. The business has previously delivered its services to high-profile clients such as Marks & Spencer, McDonalds, TalkTalk, Burger King, Clear Channel and Swinton Insurance.
The investment has been awarded to Sign Lights Ltd by The North West Fund for Energy & Environmental, which is financed jointly by the European Investment Bank and the European Regional Development Fund and managed by 350 Investment Partners.
