Newcastle agency design Wall Street Journal’s Super Bowl cover

Newcastle advertising and design agency KeltieCochrane have been commissioned to produce the front cover of this weekend’s Wall Street Journal for the Super Bowl.

The Toffee Factory-based agency were contacted by the paper this week and briefed on this weekend’s cover story.

Creative director Ian Keltie says his firm has worked with the paper for around five years producing covers, including previous Super Bowl designs.

He told Bdaily: “We got the email asking if we were available to do the this weekend’s cover, followed by details of the story and how they’re approaching it.

“I get the gist of the story and chose shots of players to be illustrated. The story is probably being written now.”

KeltieCochrane have worked extensively with US clients, including Rolling Stone magazine, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.

Despite the firm’s North East base, KeltieCochrane was founded on contracts in the US.

Ian started the firm with Jason Cochrane in 2008 and it has now grown into a nine-strong team, regularly working on animations for TV and movie posters for Hollywood blockbusters, among other projects.

He added: “Working with such a great brand as the Wall Street Journal is fantastic for us to be able to shout about.

“It leads to so many other interesting projects.”
